Note : | Neuronal iron deficiency was created beginning at 3 DIV by treating cultures with 9 micromolar deferoxamine. At 11 DIV, for the formerly iron-deficient (FID), iron repletion was accomplished by removing all culture medium from a subset of DFO-treated cultures and immediately replacing it with a half-volume of the medium that was removed from iron sufficient (IS) cultures and supplemented with an additional 30 micromolar choline chloride. |
