Note :  The stab wound rodent model of penetrating traumatic injury in the cortex was made in specific coordinates (2 mm lateral and posterior to the bregma). A 21- gauge needle (0.8 mm diameter) was used to produce a stab lesion into the cortex to a depth of 1 mm. Brain sections from control and LPS or SFZ-treated animals were simultaneously processed in a free- floating state, and immunolabeling was performed with immunofluorescence.
