| Note : | We injected a combination of dextran amine tracers, fluoroemerald and fluororuby. We used a cocktail of the 3KDA and 10kDA isoforms of dextran amines to ensure enhanced bidirectional retrograde and anterograde transport. For PMd injections, the tracer was delivered in 2-3 penetrations (spaced 0.5 mm apart) at a depth of 1.2-1.6 mm below the pial surface of the rostral PMd, to deliver a total of 3-8 microliters per injection site. For each injection, the needle was left in situ for 5-10 mins to allow for diffusion and prevent upward suction of the dye upon retraction of the needle. |
