Note :  Guinea pigs were surgically implanted with bilateral intrahippocampal (AP-3 mm, ML +/-3 mm, DV -3.25 mm relatively to Bregma) and epidural EEG recording electrodes, as described previously. Seven days after electrode implantation, animals were injected in the dorsal cornu ammonis (CA1) of the right hippocampus with a solution containing kainic acid (KA; n=34) under continuous video-EEG recording. Chronic animals were video-EEG recorded for no less than 4 weeks after FncSE, to verify the presence of spontaneous seizures.
