Note :  This reconstruction belongs to an offspring from a dam treated with a single intraperitoneal (IP) injection of streptozotocin (45 mg/kg; in 100 mM sodium citrate buffer, pH 4.5). Three days after streptozotocin injection, the (diabetic) mother received half of a 7 mm insulin implant (1 U/day).
