Note :  Slit1 KD in the vmPFC was accomplished by injecting HSV vectors expressing a miRNA targeting Slit1, as well as green fluorescent protein (GFP) (miR-Slit1). For viral delivery, the following stereotaxic coordinates were applied: +1.8 mm (anterior/posterior), +0.75 mm (medial/lateral), -2.7 mm (dorsal/ventral) at an angle of 15 degrees from the midline (relative to Bregma). A total of 0.5 microliters of HSV solution was delivered bilaterally over a 5-minute period (0.1microlitres/min), followed by 5 minutes of rest after which the needle was slowly removed.
