Taper_1
This function returns the Burke Taper. This function is measured between two bifurcation points.
Formula :
D
a
-
D
b
L
Function Output Type : Real
Calculated : At each bifurcation point
Returns a value : For each branch
Output:
Metric | Total_Sum | #Compartments (considered) |
#Compartments (discarded) |
Minimum | Average | Maximum | S.D. |
Taper_1 | -1.4721 | 89 | (1465) | -0.0636 | -0.0165 | 0.003 | 0.072459 |
Values to consider : All
Output Interpretation :
Burke Taper: actual diameter of the bifurcation compartment (Da) minus previous bifurcation compartment diameter ( Dc ), divided by the total length(L) of the branch = (Da - Dc) /L
Total_Sum = -1.4721 gives Total_Sum, Minimum = -0.0636 gives minimum, Maximum = 0.003 gives maximum for given input neuron.
References :
- Taper1 values are positive.
- If there are Negative values, that means the given reconstruction file has smaller parent diameters when compared to the daughter branches.
- If there are Negative values, that means the given reconstruction file has smaller parent diameters when compared to the daughter branches.
